Liverpool assistant manager Sammy Lee has warned the Anfield club cannot afford a single slip-up if they are to take fourth place in the Premier League. The Reds currently lie five points behind Manchester City and four points behind Tottenham Hotspur. Today they face a tough trip to Birmingham City.
Lee told the club’s official website that six wins are needed from the team’s last six games.
"We have to win all six games to give ourselves a chance and then see what happens. If we don’t win all six then we’ll be in the lap of the gods. We know what we have to do."
Liverpool will be encouraged by the tough run of games Tottenham have coming up, with Spurs due to play Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd in quick succession. Manchester City however, are firmly in the driving seat and sent out a warning with their 6-1 demolition of Burnley yesterday.
