Manchester City have successfully ousted Tottenham Hotspur from the coveted fourth spot in the league standings after thumping Burnley 6-1 at the weekend. The Roberto Mancini led side are now favourites to hold on and qualify for the Champions League this season, but midfielder Vincent Kompany is certain Spurs will not lie down as the campaign draws to a close.
“We definitely have options," Kompany declared on the club’s official website, "but Spurs have a big squad as well. I have a lot of respect for them, and I know they are strong. But it would be wrong for us to say that the fact we have a bit more experience would make the difference.”
Only a point separates Man City and Spurs in the Premier League standings, ensuring that the battle for fourth will be just as tight as the battle for the title is shaping up to be.
