Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is unsure whether his team needs a new centre back, this much he said when talking to the press following his side’s loss to Barcelona in the Champions League last night. The Gunners, who lost 4-1 to Barcelona on the night, thanks to an incredible four Lionel Messi goals, have once again had questions raised over their backline.

"It’s a question [about whether to buy a new centre back] that is very difficult to answer because at the moment it’s not a priority" said the Frenchman. "The priority tonight is to recover from the game."

Wenger went on to praise the defenders he currently has saying: "We have played quite well, with a lot of character as ever, but we made too many mistakes. [Mikael] Silvestre and [Sol] Campbell are two good players. That’s why the choice [of who should play] is difficult."

The Arsenal manager went on to say he hoped the Barcelona result would not affect their Premier League form as The Gunners remain very much in the title race.
