Chelsea full-back Paulo Ferreira has not figured much playing time this season, but was impressive when called upon in arguably the club’s most significant win of the season against Manchester United last weekend. The veteran defender has had to wait patiently for his chance in this campaign, and he certainly made the most of his chance at Old Trafford.

For a player who is used to playing it is hard,” Ferreira admits on the club’s official website. “But you need to be professional and you need to know that in football there are ups and downs. When you are down is when you have to start working hardest to show that you can start playing again.”

Ferreira has been part of Chelsea since 2004, and is currently the club’s longest serving full-back.
