Striker Gonzalo Higuain has been in scintillating form for Real Madrid this season, notching up a record of 26 goals in 31 matches so far, his highest ever total in a single campaign. The Argentinean has been in such prolific form that he is threatening to finish above Cristiano Ronaldo, who is trailing by one less, in the goal haul category.

"Being successful here is difficult, but you can accomplish anything through hard work and dedication,” Higuain said on the club’s official website. “Very few get the chance I did, which is why I am not going to veer off track. I hope to see my name written in the annals of Real Madrid."

Few expected the young 22-year-old to better his impressive tally in the previous season, but Higuain is quickly proving he has what it takes to be something special for Real Madrid.
