Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has had a disappointing season to say the least, and the Spanish tactician is not hiding from the fact he may be to blame for some of the club’s misfortune. The former Valencia boss is quick to highlight also however, that he is not alone in making blunders.

I think every manager will make mistakes. I will not say which team, but they’ve signed three or four wingers for £15m-£20m, or players who have been injured for the whole season,” Benitez argued on the club’s official website. “But, for example, we’ve signed one player that has had problems during the whole season and we cannot manage.”

Despite the disastrous campaign so far, The Reds still have a legitimate chance of silverware this season with the Europa League. Liverpool will have to overturn a 2-1 deficit to Benfica tonight however, if they are to continue any hopes of winning the competition.
