Atletico Madrid staved off a late-game push from Valencia last night to hold on to their away goals advantage from the first leg. The draw sends the club into the semi-finals of the Europa League, where they will face English giants Liverpool. 19-year-old goalkeeper David de Gea, who was impressive again last night, isn’t allowing himself to be intimidated by The Reds.

We were never worrying about who we’d have to play next and it still makes no difference to us," he said on UEFA.com. "We have a great team and so do Liverpool but you can be sure we’ll be giving everything we have in order to beat them."

Summer signing De Gea, who replaced former first-choice keeper Sergio Asenjo, has been a surprisingly mature addition to the team this season, and his fifth straight clean sheet at the Vicente Calderon last night shows signs of his potential.
