Bobby Zamora has been in arguably the best form of his life this season, and Fulham manager Roy Hodgson is fully convinced that his impressive striker deserves a place on the England squad. The 29-year-old was on the score sheet again last night, taking his tally for the season to 18.
"Bobby Zamora is a very good player. This year, by adding goals to his excellent build-up play, he’s come to everyone’s attention and he can do no more than continue to play well,” Hodgson said on the league’s official website. "Then, I’m sure when Fabio Capello is looking at the players available to take to the World Cup, he will make his assessment. I know Fabio is aware of Bobby as a player, but Bobby can’t do any more himself.”
Zamora has looked determined to prove a point this season, and Fulham, who are now in the Europa League semi-finals, have benefited greatly from his seven-goal contribution in the competition.
