Manchester United crashed out of the Champions League in midweek, much to the frustration of youngster Darron Gibson, who scored the opener in the match. The Irishman is confident however, that the three-time consecutive Premier League champions have what it takes to bounce back and immediately return all focus on getting a record-breaking fourth on the trot.
“I cannot describe the disappointment but we have to pick ourselves up for Blackburn Rovers on Sunday. We are still in the race for the title,” Gibson said after the loss to Bayern Munich. “We have the experience in the dressing room to stand up and fight back. There are lads in there who have been in this position before and done it before.”
Man Utd have the opportunity to return to the pinnacle of the league standings at the weekend, with Chelsea out on FA Cup duties.
