Fulham continue their Cinderella story in the Europa League, successfully reaching the semi-finals after defeating Wolfsburg again in the second leg of their last eight tie. Bobby Zamora notched the game’s only goal, which proved to be vital in keeping the match in the Premier League side’s favour.
“By scoring the early goal they had to score two at least,” Fulham manager Roy Hodgson said on the club’s official website. “I thought it was a very professional and solid performance by the team and I’m very proud of their performance and very happy for them.”
The Cottagers, who dramatically dumped out Italian giants Juventus earlier in the competition, will next face Hamburg in the semi-finals.
