Crafty midfielder Luka Modric is warning his Tottenham Hotspur team-mates not to fall into the trap of underestimating Premier League whipping boys Portsmouth, when the two sides clash in the FA Cup semi-finals. The Croatian is fully aware of the threat Pompey possess, and is determined to keep his side’s confidence in check, especially being so close to a chance at winning some silverware.

"This is a very big game for us," said Modric on the club’s official website. "If we win, we’re in the FA Cup Final and that’s what we want. That would be great for everyone at the club. But it’s not the case that we will just beat Portsmouth. We have to concentrate and play our best football to go through,” he continued. “We can’t relax on the pitch and think that we’ll win anyway, that’s not the way we need to think about this game.”

Portsmouth are rock bottom in the league standings, but could make it a second FA Cup finals appearance in three years should they triumph over Spurs.
