When Sven-Goran Eriksson took the Ivory Coast job recently he declared that the appointment wouldn’t bring him much money, but according to France Football, the former England boss will be very well compensated for his time in charge of The Elephants.
The French paper believes that Eriksson has agreed a basic salary of €305,000 per month, however his contract includes big bonuses depending on the progress of the African nation at the World Cup. The Swede will gain €203,000 should he qualify from the group stages, €305,000 to get to the quarter-finals, €406,000 for a semi-final spot and €509,000 for taking Ivory Coast to the final.
Eriksson also has a London hotel (cost estimated at around €25,000) paid for by the Ivory Coast FA and a credit card without a spending limit, allowing him to trek the globe to watch the country’s players.
