Chelsea managed to triumph over a valiant Aston Villa side with a comfortable scoreline, but the match was anything but, especially in the first half. Captain John Terry admits the game was far tougher than the 7-1 thumping The Blues handed the Villains two weeks ago, and that things could’ve been worse had there been a penalty awarded early in the match..

I would say Villa should have had a penalty first half,” the skipper admitted on the club’s official website. “I was right there but we should have had some earlier in the season. We didn’t get them and we moved on, we got a bit of luck this time and in the second half we played a lot better.”

Chelsea couldn’t have gone into a crucial part of the season, where they face Bolton Wanderers shortly before clashing with Tottneham Hotspur, in better form, having won their last four games in all competitions.
