Manchester City made the most of their chance to solidify their hold on fourth spot in the Premier League, defeating Birmingham City heavily on Sunday. The 5-1 victory is the third game with three or more goals scored for the club, but manager Roberto Mancini reveals he wouldn’t mind a small margin against Manchester United next week, so long as his side come out winners at the end.

I think it is impossible to continue scoring three or four goals in the next game. We will try, but if we win 1-0 I will be happy. If we have 1-0 victories in the next five games that will be good for us,” Mancini said on the league’s official website. "Of course we have respect for United but we want to win this game as it is an important one for us.”

Not only will pride and bragging rights be on the line in the Manchester derby, but also clubs’ respective pushes for title glory and Champions League qualification as well.
