Inter Milan have managed to reach the semi-finals of the Champions League for the first time in seven seasons, thanks in large part to their striker Diego Milito, who scored decisive goals in the last two rounds. The Argentinean international is determined to triumph in the competition, and bring the club Europe’s top honour again after 45 years.

Well you can say that yes, obviously Inter, as big as they are, need to win this competition after the many years that they haven’t been able to win it,” Milito said on UEFA.com. “I think what people have been asking for in recent years is for us to win this competition. That isn’t easy. I think it’s very clear that it is very difficult to win the Champions League. But we will do our very best to win this great prize and we plan to achieve that at some point.”

Milito has banged in 22 goals in 39 appearances for Inter this season, three of which come in Europe. Inter will be hoping he adds to that tally when they clash against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals
