Everton left-back Leighton Baines claims his side should capitalise on Aston Villa’s FA Cup disappointment when they lock horns on Wednesday night. The Englishman is aware going to Villa Park will be a difficult proposition, but believes his side must focus on their own European ambitions.
"Villa are a good side," Baines told the club’s official website. "Hopefully the FA Cup semi final will have had a big impact on them. But we’ve got to think a little bit more about ourselves and what we’ve got to do. Villa is a tough place to go and win, but we’ve done it in the past and we can do it again."
Everton, who are currently eighth in the league, are a long shot to capture fourth spot before the end of the season, but the high-flying Merseyside club have not given up the fight.
