Montenegrin Nenad Brnovic has admitted that the greatest success in his football career wasn’t any particular victory or specific goal he scored, but being able to recover from a two-and-a-half year injury nightmare. March 2006 was when his struggle to play again started, after breaking his leg in a domestic match.
Speaking to UEFA.com Brnovic said, “I played with great players in the national team and with Partizan – Predrag Mijatović, Siniša Mihajlović, Dejan Stanković, Darko Kovačević, Ivan Tomić and Albert Nađ – and against greats like Steven Gerrard and Paul Scholes, but my biggest success is that I’m playing football again."
Now that the 30-year-old is back playing regular football again, he has changed his motivation from returning to football, to being selected to play for the Montenegro national team for at least one more time.
