AC Milan skipper Massimo Ambrosini has admitted his side have wasted opportunities to be higher up in the Serie A table, but admits that the team can only focus on the future to remedy their past mistakes.
“The other teams have the advantage because Milan are behind at the moment. There’s regret because we threw away some chances,” the 32-year-old said on the club’s official website. “At this point we can’t look behind anymore: we have five matches left and what’s done is done, we can’t change that. We still have to get to the end of the season with as few regrets as possible.”
AC Milan have managed just four wins in their last nine league matches, and are currently third in the Serie A standings, trailing leaders AS Roma by four points.
