Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the French Cup final after they dispatched of fourth tier side US Quevilly 1-0 yesterday. Despite being overwhelming favourites going into the match, the game was extremely close for most of the duration, with the single early second half goal, all that could separate the two sides.
“We lost our concentration for five minutes early in the second half, and they took advantage,” Quevilly coach Régis Brouard said on UEFA’s official website. “They deserve to go through as they were more powerful than us."
PSG’s passage into the final ends the spectacular fairy-tale run of the amateurs from the fourth tier of French football, who managed to defeat Ligue 1 side Boulogne 3-1 en route to the Cup semi-finals.
