Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has denied suggestions that Patrick Vieira is burnt out and says he does not regret the Frenchman’s presence at Eastlands. The Italian coach told L’Equipe: "Patrick has very useful and valuable experience. On the pitch he brings all his strength. For us he is a real plus."
Mancini also dismissed suggestions that the former Inter midfielder is now past his best and burnt out. "No, that’s not the case at all!" said the Italian, going on to say he has not regretted a single purchase for City so far.
Vieira is yet to make any real impression on City’s pursuit of a top four place, though it could indeed be the case that his experience on the training pitch and in the dressing room will be just as crucial as his team chase Champions League football.
