Chelsea manager Carlo Ancelotti as come to the defence of skipper John Terry after the centre-back had a nightmare match in the defeat against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend. The defender was guilty of giving away a penalty in the first half, before getting involved in a verbal spat with a fan and later getting sent off.
“All the people are looking too much at his performances,” the Italian said on the club’s official website. “Maybe sometimes he had some problems and he didn’t play so well, maybe on Saturday he didn’t play so well, but you have to look to the whole season of John Terry which is absolutely fantastic.”
As a result of his dismissal in the recent loss to Spurs, the former England captain will be forced miss his side’s weekend match against Stoke City at Stamford Bridge.
