According to Forbes Magazine, Manchester United have replaced Real Madrid as the richest football club in world. The reigning three-time Premier League champions are believed to be worth €1.3B well ahead of Los Blancos (€988.3M), who are followed by another English club, Arsenal (€882.4M).

The figures represent the combined total of all revenue received from television rights, merchandising, sponsorships and ticketing. Other significant clubs in the top ten include Barcelona in fourth, Liverpool in sixth, AC Milan seventh, Juventus eighth, and Chelsea in ninth.

Forbes puts the club’s success financially, down to Man Utd’s shrewd marketing strategies to a global fan base, combined with the team’s success in Europe and dominance of the Premier League.
