Real Madrid’s living legend Raul, has found 90-minute appearances especially hard to come by this season, with the arrival of a new manager and players such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka. Often needing to be content with a place on the substitutes bench, the 32-year-old is pondering a possible move away from his boyhood club in order to continue playing football.
“At the moment I’m not going to leave. I hope I can fulfill my contract year, but we’ll see what happens at the end of the season,” Raul said on Spanish paper Marca. “I especially want to continue playing football.”
With the emergence of youngster Gonzalo Higuain for Real as well, the legendary Raul looks ever more likely to be sitting on the bench rather than off it next season, pointing at a possible summer exit for the Spaniard.
