Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema’s lawyer has denied reports that he has been called by French police to speak about his client’s alleged involvement in the ongoing scandal involving a prostitute.

The French press had reported that Benzema had relations with the same prostitute linked to Franck Ribery and Sidney Govou, and this when she was just 16 years old. But the striker’s lawyer has told a radio station that he has not been contacted regarding the scandal.

"Until today Benzema has not received any notice, and has not been contacted either by telephone or in writing" said the lawyer.

He went on to say he was very concerned at having seen Benzema’s name linked to the prostitute and yet has not received any call.
