Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli has poured cold water on suggestions that his club could be a possible escape route for Mario Balotelli away from Inter.
The Florence side had been suggested as a destination for the young striker who is enduring a season of agony at the San Siro, having fallen out with the club’s fans and had repeated run-ins with coach Jose Mourinho.
But Prandelli told the press: "Balotelli is a player who earns a lot, and throwing his name about [in connection with Fiorentina] would be throwing a name for the fans to dream about, and that is not right, and a fantasy."
The coach also revealed that he has yet to begin discussions over a new contract with the club, but is not concerned, stating that when he first arrived at Fiorentina his deal was only for 12 months.
