La Liga giants Barcelona are refusing to rule out the possibility of signing Ashley Young from Aston Villa as a replacement for Thierry Henry. The former Arsenal striker is expected to quit Spain and head to the United States to join New York Red Bulls upon the conclusion of the World Cup, and should this happen Barcelona will have a difficult decision to make.

According to Catalan daily Sport, Barca boss Pep Guardiola is keen to keep faith with young stars like Pedro and Bojan, and is not yet convinced of the need to sign a replacement. However, voices within the club have been linked with Aston Villa’s youthful winger Young, and a figure of €25M is believed to be enough to secure the England star’s services.

With Henry’s exit not yet certain however, and Guardiola’s willingness to trust in his tender squad, a move for Young may still not materialise.
