Manchester City’s on loan goalkeeper to Birmingham City, Joe Hart, revealed his concern for injured first-choice shot-stopper Shay Given, after the Irishman dislocated his shoulder at the weekend. The young custodian revealed, he was “devastated for Shay,” and that he didn’t “want that to happen to anyone, especially someone like him – a great keeper and really good person."
Given is expected to see two specialists within the next 72 hours in order to find a way to recover as quickly as possible in a vital part of the season for Man City. It is believed the former Newcastle United player damaged ligaments and tendons in the match against Arsenal on Saturday.
The injury to Given puts the club in a goalkeeping crisis, as the club only have Faroe Islands international Gunnar Nielsen and Academy player Loris Karius available as replacements.
