Manchester United surged to the top of the Premier League standings on Saturday after their impressive victory over Tottenham Hotspur, but Chelsea were quick to regain the lead, demolishing Stoke City 7-0 at Stamford Bridge. The devastating win puts The Blues one point ahead of their nearest rivals, with only two matches remaining – a scenario that delights their Italian manager.
"There was a bit of pressure on us before the game but we gave a fantastic performance,” Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti said after the match. "I don’t feel any pressure now. I am calm and quiet because the title is in our hands. We can decide our destiny."
Chelsea’s future will depend quite heavily on their next match, when they face a tricky trip to Anfield to face fourth spot challengers Liverpool.
