According to transfermarkt.de, Bundesliga side Hoffenheim have confirmed that they will be parting ways with goalkeeper Timo Hildebrand, whose contract expires at the end of the season. The club have decided not to extend his current deal, and will leave the former Valencia and Stuttgart shot stopper without a team in the summer.
Hildebrand suffered a muscle tear earlier in the season, keeping the player on the sidelines and unable to complete a total of 41 appearances, which would’ve meant an automatic extension of his contract. The 31-year-old has been chosen to be left out of next season’s squad, despite lacking just 3 appearances to reach the target.
It is believed Hoffenheim are looking at second division side MSV Duisburg for Hildebrand’s replacement.
