David Beckham has revealed that he is targetting a November return to football action, two months later than was originally expected. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star underwent surgery in March for an Achilles tendon injury, and recovery is likely to last longer than the initially expected six months healing time, meaning the 34-year-old will miss the entire MLS season unless LA Galaxy make it into the playoffs.
“I won’t be running for another three months, so I will be playing again in, probably, November," Beckham told ABC. "My mentality is to kind of push it and get moving and running as soon as possible. But it’s an injury that has to take time to heal.”
Despite his unfortunate injury ruling out of the World Cup, the former England captain is still expected to travel with the squad to South Africa.
