Richard Dunne has had a fantastic first season for Aston Villa since his transfer from Manchester City in the summer, and that is proven by his inclusion in the PFA Team of the Year. The former Blues captain still holds a special place in the hearts of those he left behind in the summer, with Stephen Ireland claiming he is extremely delighted with how the centre-back has progressed this campaign at Villa Park.
“He’s had a terrific season for Villa, been to Wembley twice and was voted into the PFA Team of the Year,” the Man City midfielder said on The Villains’ official website. "You can tell by his performances that he’s enjoying himself and he’s probably has one of the best seasons of his career in terms of what he’s done this season.”
Dunne is expected to make his return to Eastlands at the weekend, when Man City host Aston Villa in a crucial match in the race for fourth place in the Premier League.
