Arsenal may have to defend themselves against not just an assault from Barcelona for Cesc Fabregas this summer, but also Robin van Persie, if a report from Spanish daily AS is to be believed.

Despite possessing awesome firepower up front, the Camp Nou side are thought to have been impressed with the Dutchman this season, and should Thierry Henry depart, as seems probable, van Persie could be an attractive proposition.

There is little suggestion that Arsenal would entertain the thought of selling one of their most prized assets, but rarely does that prevent Barcelona trying to buy the players on their wish-list. The report also claims contact has been made between the two parties.
