Manchester City receive plenty of criticism for their mega-rich status and ambitions for football greatness, but few would have anything bad to say about their impressive come-from-behind victory over then top four challengers Aston Villa at the weekend.
Quite annoyed by all the negative publicity directed at the club, Nigel de Jong felt the team responded at the perfect venue, saying on the club’s website, “The only place to do your talking is one the pitch and no one who saw the game could ever accuse us of lack of spirit. We showed really good character out there on the pitch especially after we went a goal behind,” he reiterated.
Man City next host Tottenham Hotspur at Eastlands in midweek in a match that could potentially decide who finishes in fourth spot this season.
