With a chance to capture two titles in the Europa League and the Copa del Rey, Atletico Madrid president Enrique Cerezo has hailed his side as Spain’s Team of the Year. Despite a mediocre campaign in the league which sees them sitting in the middle of the table, the capital-based side could be on the verge of a historic double.

"Atletico Madrid now may be the Team of the Year in Spain, as we are the only team with the opportunity to win two major trophies this season,” said Cerezo on Spanish daily Marca.

Aletico will have to defeat Premier League side Fulham in the Europa League final, and fifth placed La Liga side Sevilla in the Copa del Rey final in order to complete a remarkable double.
