Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Luka Modric has highlighted midweek’s clash with Manchester City as the most important of the season: “It’s a big game, probably the biggest club game I’ve played because the Champions League is at stake,” the Croatian playmaker said on the club’s official website, before changing his stance, "In fact not probably, it’s definitely the game of the season for both us.”
Only one point separates Spurs and Man City in the standings, with a win by either side surely a massive boost in the victorious club’s bid for Champions League football next year.
Although a tense and tight affair is expected, Modric is convinced his side have what it takes to dispatch of the mega-rich club. The Croatian midfielder has enjoyed a perfect 3-0 record against Man City since his arrival in Tottenham back in 2008.
