According to tuttomercatoweb.com, Chelsea are preparing a massive bid for Liverpool’s talismanic striker Fernando Torres. With word that AC Milan will be unwilling to part ways with Brazilian duo Pato and Thiago Silva, owner Roman Abramovich has set his sights on the Spanish sensation.

The Russian billionaire is believed to be willing to part with €80M in order to capture Torres, who would significantly boost the aging attacking partnership of Didier Drogba (32) and Nicolas Anelka (31).

Although Chelsea are on the verge of a domestic double, Abramovich and manager Carlo Ancelotti are already finding ways to improve the side, which will be under the added pressure of dealing with the threat of mega-rich Manchester City next season.
