Despite failing to qualify for Champions League football next season, manager Roberto Mancini is confident star striker Carlos Tevez will remain with the mega-rich club, saying, “He has a contract with Manchester City and he will be here next season.”
The Argentinean forward has proven to be the club’s talisman this season, scoring 29 goals in all competitions, in what is, by far, his best campaign for any English side he has played for.
News of the stay of Tevez, who has almost equalled his entire goal tally for former club Manchester United in one season with the Blues, will be a massive boost to the ambitious side. With Man City aiming to shake up the top four further in the next campaign, keeping their prolific striker is certainly an immediate step in the right direction.
