After securing the Ligue 1 title and the League Cup, double-winners Olympique Marseille are not prepared to rest on their laurels. According to France Football, the new champions of France are already lining up their summer transfer targets, in hopes of duplicating their spectacular effort next season.
It is believed manager Didier Deschamps is interested in bringing in players to strengthen his squad’s depth, and Bordeaux’s 28-year-old skipper Alou Diarra is seen an ideal reinforcement to the defence, while Rennes’ 24-year-old striker Jimmy Briand as a candidate to bolster the attacking options.
Marseille are also understood to be interested in the services of Poland international and Auxerre attacker Ireneusz Jelen, who has scored an impressive 18 goals in 30 matches this season.
