Newly crowned French champions Marseille have made a move to strengthen their squad ahead of Champions League football next season. Didier Deschamps, the title winning coach, has managed to reach a preliminary agreement with Monaco defender Francios Modesto according to France Football.
Modesto played under Deschamps at Monaco, and the former Juventus midfielder believes he will be a perfect fit at the Stade Velodrome.
31-year-old Modesto enjoyed a five year spell with Cagliari before moving to Monaco in 2004, and his defensive versatility will be of great benefit to the new French champions.
