Marco van Basten arrived in Italy today to fulfill media work obligations, but was staying tight-lipped on growing speculation suggesting he will be AC Milan coach next season. The San Siro legend, is thought to be one of the favoured options of Milan owner Silvio Berlusconi. Current coach Leonardo is expected to head back to his native Brazil.

The former Holland coach was questioned by the press upon his arrival.

"Let’s talk about this when the time is right", said van Basten. "Now is not the time. Milan are involved in the league. I say nothing now, the time is not right."

Van Basten is believed to be keen to take over at the San Siro, having always held the Milan job as one of his goals when he entered management.
