Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh, who is expected to join Arsenal upon the opening of the summer transfer window, has been welcomed by possible future partner in attack, Robin van Persie. Although the Dutchman admits he has only seen the Moroccan play “just from TV,” he is convinced the promising talent has what it takes to make it with the Gunners.
"He looks good, he looks quite strong in the air, he scores lots of goals with his head and he looks quite confident on the ball,” van Persie said on the club’s official website. "Hopefully it [the deal] goes through. I think it is good for all of us and that is why I am happy to see him coming here."
Chamakh’s arrival would significantly boost Arsenal’s forward lines, which are currently short of proven first-class strikers.
