Despite speculation linking him with a move to Arsenal, Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips is adamant he wants to play the rest of his football with the Blues. The England international left for Chelsea in 2005, but made a dramatic return in 2008. Having left once, the 28-year-old claims he has no plans of leaving ever again.
“I came back to finish my career at the club and that’s what I would like to do," said the Man City youth product said on the league’s official website. "If people think otherwise then there are bridges that can get crossed."
Wright-Phillips scored 7 goals in only 24 matches for Roberto Mancini’s mega-rich side this season, and with the transfer window opening, the winger could find himself under immense competition for places. Man City are expected to continue to build their squad as they strive to reach football’s elite, putting the 28-year-old in danger of losing a chance at a continuous run of appearances.
