According to Catalan daily Sport, Striker David Villa, who currently still has four years left on his contract with Valencia, has admitted that he will be meeting with club president Manuel Llorente at the end of the season, to “see what are the choices and desires of both [parties].”
The Spanish international is being strongly pursued by Barcelona, with reports even claiming that an agreement is expected to be reached soon after the season ends at the weekend. Villa has been linked in the last couple of years with a switch to either Real Madrid or Barca, but negotiations have never seemed to prove fruitful.
When asked how he feels about the opportunity of becoming Lionel Messi’s team-mate, Villa responded, “Anyone would like to play alongside the best in the world.”
