Everton standout Tim Cahill, who currently still has two years left on his contract, is in advanced talks for a new four-year deal. The Australian international has proven to be a vital player for the club since his acquisition from Millwall back in 2004, and the 30-year-old is looking to keep things that way.

The chairman knows my thoughts, I will sign here for life,” Cahill said on the league’s official website. "He knows my thoughts on what I love about this club. I respect everyone so much and hopefully I am here for a long time.”

Cahill has been one of Everton’s most consistent performers in the last few years, and has shown a knack for scoring crucial goals for the club. His desire to remain with the side will surely be music to the ears of the team’s faithful.
