David Villa’s prospected move to Barcelona in the summer continues to develop, as presidents Joan Laporta and Manuel Llorente sort out the details of the prolific striker’s transfer. According to Catalan daily Sport, both parties have agreed to come to an agreement as swiftly as possible, in order to avoid difficulties with the coming World Cup.
It is believed that Villa is hoping to have everything sorted before he flies to South Africa with Spain, and the clubs share the same sentiment. Barca want to secure their target as soon as possible, while Valencia want to conclude negotiations sooner rather than later in order to avoid the inflated transfer prices due to the World Cup.
Los Che are reported to be holding firm on their €42M pricetag, and Barca are believed to have conceded in attempting to lower the cost. The prospected four-year deal involves the Spanish international receiving €5.5M-a-year in wages.
