Outgoing Real Madrid veteran Guti is set to miss the club’s final match of the season, after being ordered to rest by the medical team. The 33-year-old has expressed his desire to play regular football elsewhere next year, bringing to an end 15 years of service to Los Blancos.
A statement regarding Guti’s fitness read on the club’s official website: “After being looked at by Real Madrid’s medical services, Jose Maria Gutierrez, "Guti", who has been suffering from a bout of acute gastroentiritis, has been ordered to stick to a strict diet and rest at home until being examined again in 24 hours.”
Guti has pointed to his lack of appearances in recent times for his decision to leave, and is being linked with a move to Turkey’s Galatasaray in the summer.
