Ligue 1 giants Lyon have already begun the inquiry into a poor season by their standards – one securing Champions League football this weekend would not completely reverse. Having been linked with a big money more for Yoann Gourcuff, now the French side are considering other midfield options too.

On the list, according to France Football, is Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko, as Lyon continue their policy of mainly buying promising young domestic players. Sissoko, 20, is highly rated, was targeted by a number of Premier League sides last season, and as such won’t come cheap for Lyon.

The midfielder has progressed through every level of France’s international teams and last year finally made his debut for the senior side.

Last season Toulouse’s president declared Sissoko would not leave for less than €30M.
