There has been plenty of speculation claiming David Villa’s move to Barcelona was imminent, and the Spanish press has proven such rumours to be correct. According to various sources in the country, Valencia have finally agreed to sell their coveted striker to the Catalan giants.
Persistence has paid off for the record-breaking side, who have made it third time lucky after two past failures to lure Villa to the Camp Nou. It is believed that an amount in the region of €42M has been agreed upon by Los Che and Barca.
The Spanish international could be set to meet his new team-mates as early as Monday next week, as both sides try to wrap up the deal as quick as possible in order to ensure the player’s World Cup focus isn’t disturbed.
