Cesc Fabregas’ former Barcelona youth academy team-mate Gerard Pique, who made a return to the Catalan giants back in 2008 after a stint with Manchester United, is convinced the Arsenal captain will be making a similar homecoming this summer.
“I saw the best years of my life and my career here and I think that’s why Cesc wants to come,” the centre-back said on France Football. “ He fits very well. It is impossible to resist a return to Barca. If it happens, with [David] Villa, we have a team that the world will envy.”
Although the Spanish press have had a habit of linking Fabregas with Barcelona in the past few seasons, it seems the transfer will finally push through. The Arsenal skipper has proclaimed his desire to make the switch, and his intent to leave could prove too much for the Gunners.
