With the arrival of €40M signing David Villa from Valencia wrapped up yesterday, the future of underperforming Zlatan Ibrahimovic has come under scrutiny. The Swedish striker enjoyed a lacklustre first season with the Catalan giants, receiving plenty of criticism for his alleged inability to live up to his massive price tag.
Having secured Villa, Barcelona are believed to be allowing Ibrahimovic to decide whether he wants to remain with the club or not, provided his €50M valuation is met should he choose to play elsewhere.
Reports in the Spanish press claim Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are the prime candidates interested in the striker. With manager Roberto Mancini enjoying a pleasant relationship with Ibrahimovic at Inter Milan in the past, the Citizens boss is being linked as the most likely to chase the Barca player.
